The station is powered by a -Peet WX2000- weather station. The data is collected every 30 seconds and the site is updated every 5 minutes. This site and its data is collected using Weather Display Software. The station is comprised of an anemometer, a rain gauge and a thermo-hydro sensor situated in optimal positions for highest accuracy possible.

About Cascade

Cascade is a suburb of Grand Rapids, Michigan located on the eastern side of the city.

Grand Rapids is located in the Grand River valley approximately 30 miles east of Lake Michigan. The regions climate is influenced by the lake, which tempers the cold in the fall and winter months. The warm lake waters add moisture to the atmosphere during winter creating frequent lake snows. Seasonal extreames are infrequrnt, althought hot humid weather can be expected for three weeks during the summer

AVERAGE TEMPERATURES: January, 21.8 degres F; July, 71.6 degres F; anual average, 47.4 degrees F.

AVERAGE ANNUAL PRECIPITATION: 37.13 inches of rain, 71.9 inches of snow.
